It's All Good!

It’s All Good!
That is what I say. Anyone who truly knows me will tell you that is my motto. Occasionally I feel I need to explain what I mean when I say it….this is one of those times. I had a wonderful friend of mine tell me once that the statement was not accurate because “only God is good”. I had another equally good friend tell me I hide behind it. So here is what I mean when those words come out of my mouth.
I mean that the first friend is right…only God is good. I fully understand that there are bad things in this world. There is nothing good about things like murder, rape, cancer, child abuse, and the list could go on for a long time. But here is the thing. God is my all, He is everything. I need nothing else He is the reason I wake up in the morning and go to bed at night. My life is all about Him. As for the second friend. I can see where they were coming from. When I say “It’s all good” some people may assume I am okay. That is not always the case. I frequently say it when I am depressed, angry, or even sad. But I don’t say it to hide behind it. I say it to remind me God is in charge He is working whatever my circumstances are to His good (Rom 8:38). So I do not know how you may feel about this statement but next time you are singing the song “All in All” think about what you are singing. If those words are true then it’s all good.
